Third donation from Les Amis des Franciscaines: a sports canvas!

Goldengirl (2023), by artist Nina Childress, will be added to the collection on January 27, as part of the exhibition entitled Le sport pour la beauté du geste.

Goldengirl is an oil on canvas, depicting a female athlete engaged in a speed race, remaining faithful to her lane as opposed to an endurance competition. The work is distinguished by a flamboyant chromaticism achieved through the use of fluorescent pigments, adding an unreal dimension to the scene. In this painting, the paradoxical solitude of the athlete, devoid of competitors, is meticulously staged.
