The FabLab

A shared maker space, the FabLab des Franciscaines brings together CNC machines and traditional tools under one roof. Here, you can explore a wide range of technical and artistic practices: creating custom-made objects, customizing textiles, small-scale publishing, computer-assisted music, photography, programming, and electronics. The term “FabLab” is a contraction of “fabrication laboratory,” which means “manufacturing laboratory.”

It’s a place to:

Learn, through fun public workshops open to everyone.

• - Maker Club (ages 11–15), on Saturdays during school breaks.
• - Mini-Maker (ages 8–10), Wednesdays during school breaks.
• - Digital Creation, during school breaks.

Hands-on activities, with guidance tailored to your projects and experiments.

• - Maker Time (ages 16 and up), reserved for Friendciscaines members; open to the public on Saturdays or by appointment the rest of the week.

The FabLab is equipped in accordance with the recommendations of the International FabLab Charter.

At the FabLab, check out a selection of documentaries on the theme of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), available for checkout or on-site use at the Franciscaines.
