Cacique Tau Metuktire and Gert-Peter Bruch pay a special visit to the Franciscans

Cacique Raoni, a global voice for the preservation of the Amazon rainforest and the rights of indigenous peoples, appoints his grandson, TAU METUKTIRE, to represent him on a European tour organized by the NGO Planète Amazone, with a stopover at Les Franciscaines on May 29, 2025.
The presence of Cacique Tau Metuktire and theNGO Planète Amazone in Deauville underlines the town's cultural and ecological commitment, as well as the fact that Brazil has been given pride of place in the Franciscaines' programming for the France-Brazil season.
Just a few days before the end of the exhibition at Les Franciscaines dedicated to Sebastião Salgado, the great photographer and fervent defender of the peoples of Amazonia and elsewhere, this visit closes the Brazilian season in Deauville by reaffirming the town's commitment to ecological transition.
Les Franciscaines invites you to an opportunity to meet and share with the screening of the film Amazonia, Cœur de la Terre Mère at 2:30 p.m., followed by a discussion at 3:30 p.m. with Cacique Tau Metuktire and Gert-Peter Bruch, President and Founder of planète Amazone and director of the film.
