A distinction that honors Deauville and Les Franciscaines

Presentation of the insignia of Chevalière de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres
Sandrine Boyer-Engel

On Saturday November 29, Caroline Clémensat, General Manager of Les Franciscaines and Deputy Director of Services for the City of Deauville, received the insignia of Chevalière de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

This prestigious distinction was awarded by Rima Abdul-Malak, Minister of Culture from 2022 to 2024, in the presence of Philippe Augier, Mayor of Deauville, and Stéphane Bredin, Prefect of Calvados. This ceremony marks a constant commitment to the service of culture, the region and its inhabitants.

Visionary, creative and deeply attached to Deauville, Caroline Clémensat has long been the competent driving force behind Deauville's cultural policy, spurred on by Phillippe Augier, who is deeply committed to making culture accessible to all. Her leadership, carried out with the highest standards and humanity, has shaped the Franciscaines' identity and contributed to its resounding success. A Deauvillaise by blood and by heart, she knows the nuances of the town, its singular balance, its living soul.

Today,Les Franciscaines is the most eloquent expression of this: a place open to all, inspiring, where everyone can feed their imaginations. This national recognition honours a committed woman whose daily work has had a lasting influence on Deauville's cultural life.
