New exhibition! Soulages, discovering engraved work
On July 8, enter all the artist's shades of black in the new exhibition at Les Franciscaines in partnership with Millon Paris: Soulages, à la découverte de l'œuvre gravée.
A master of black and light, Pierre Soulages (1919-2022) developed his work in a variety of media: oil on canvas for the thickness and relief it allows, ink and walnut stain on paper, and various printmaking and etching techniques.
As early as 1951, he produced his first etchings, which are ten times rarer than his painted work... In this exhibition, Les Franciscaines presents half of his work, i.e. 25 etchings, all of which are now in private hands.
A rare opportunity for lovers of Pierre Soulages' art and of etching to discover these rare works together!
