Official visit to Franciscaines as part of preparations for COP 30

France-Brazil bilateral meeting
Naïade Plante

On March 24, Les Franciscaines was honored to welcome André Corrêa do Lago, President of COP 30, Ricardo Neiva Tavares, Brazilian Ambassador to France, and Agnès Pannier-Runacher, French Minister for Ecological Transition, Biodiversity, Forestry, Sea and Fisheries.

This meeting was part of Time to Change, a two-day event combining reflection, networking and exchanges around the ecological transition and climate financing, which brought together decision-makers, experts and committed players in Deauville.

Welcomed by Philippe Augier, Mayor of Deauville and President of Les Franciscaines, and Jean-Guillaume d'Ornano, CEO of the New Pro Option Finance group, participants discussed the major issues at stake at the 30th Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP 30), to be held in Belém, Brazil, from November 10 to 21, 2025.

This first bilateral France-Brazil meeting was held in the heart of the Franciscan Monastery, as part of the exhibition Sebastião Salgado - Collection de la MEP exhibition: a symbolic place, in resonance with the global environmental challenges and the commitment of the Brazilian photographer. After their stopover in Deauville, André Corrêa do Lago and Agnès Pannier-Runacher flew to Berlin to join 40 countries for the first official negotiations of COP 30.
