The marine worlds of Pierre et Gilles unveiled at Les Franciscaines

In the presence of Philippe Augier, mayor of Deauville, the artists and Annie Madet-Vache, curators of the exhibition, the opening of the "Pierre et Gilles, Mondes marins" exhibition made quite an impression this weekend at Les Franciscaines!
On Saturday May 24, guests discovered the singular history of this exhibition, born of a generous gesture: the donation of the work "Philomène" by the Association des Amis des Franciscaines. Featured on the poster, brochure, flyer and catalog, "Philomène" was the starting point for an artistic adventure.
Invited by the Franciscaines team, Pierre et Gilles came to discover the site for the first time. Seduced by its unique atmosphere, they agreed to imagine an original exhibition focusing on the marine world - a recurring theme in their work, where sailors, mythological icons and ocean creatures poetically intersect.
Two years of collaboration, research and passion have resulted in this exceptional exhibition. A vibrant tribute to the sea, to the figures that inhabit it, and to the singular universe of the artist duo.
