Congratulations to Jean Tévélis, the winner of this 15th edition of the Prix des Ados for his novel "140 decibels", a book dealing with hyperacusis and which seduced the students of Normandy among more than 6000 participants!
"Surprised and honored to receive this prize, especially in view of the quality of the selection" are the first words of Jean Tévélis after the announcement of the winner.
140 decibels: why is it important to discover this novel?
- A huge book about friendship when paths separate due to an external circumstance: misunderstandings accumulate until we come back to take stock, each one listening to the other: this is the real basis of the novel and this is where it meets the passion of teenagers for friendship (for life or not)
- A sensational novelist's idea: inventing a giant escape game in the middle of the mountains that gives the novel a taste of a love thriller.
- An accurate theme: hyperacusis is the fact of hearing sounds in an exaggerated way until suffering. It is a metaphor of adolescence where all the senses are hyper accentuated, which gives the book a perfect accuracy.
Congratulations also to all the authors and artists who participated in this 15th edition of the Prix des Ados!
