Setting up an Accessible Youth Space
The Youth Universe is equipped with special shelving to promote reading for all. The "Espace Jeunesse Accessible" (Accessible Youth Space) offers documents with different adaptations for children with disabilities or reading difficulties.
This special area of the Youth Universe (on the top floor) features a selection of adapted books for children aged 3 to 12. Here you'll find different types of adapted documents:
- Touch books / Tact-llustrated books
- Large-print books
- Books to listen to
- Braille books
- LSF learning
- Albums without text
- FALC (Facile à Lire et à Comprendre) books
- Picto books
- Reading in sign language
- Learning to be independent
- Syllabic and phonetic books
- Dys-accessible fonts (opendyslexic)
- Visual-spatial cues
- Accessible texts and layouts
